Bhairavi
Instructor
Bhairavi Jathar is a multi-disciplinary artist based in Hamilton. Her primary mediums of her choice are watercolour, acrylic, ink and oil pastels. She was born in India and grew up surrounded by the arts. She has a degree in Commercial Art from Abhinav Kala Mahavidyalaya and an MFA from SNDT Women’s University.
Bhairavi takes inspiration from her surroundings, the communities she is involved in, old architectural buildings, travel, and her family. Her artwork captures small moments in time, fragments from interactions with nature, people, and travels.
After working as a Graphic designer for a few years in Canada, she decided to pursue her passion for fine arts full-time. Her works have been displayed extensively in juried, group and solo shows throughout southwestern Ontario, UK, and India. Bhairavi has been a frequent finalist and winner of live art painting battles. She has painted live in front of a large audience at the Art Gallery of Hamilton during a regional event. Three of her illustrations were displayed in Mississauga as hoarding murals, commissioned by a construction company. She is a Hamilton City grant receiver for her community project. Some of her works hang in private collections.
Here at Creative Insight, Bhairavi teaches watercolours, oil pastels, pen art, acrylics, clay work, paper crafts, thread art, and other mediums to kids, teens and adults
