I started doing pottery as a teenager and I immediately fell in love with the creative possibilities of working with clay.
I graduated Trent university with a bachelors degree in environmental studies and a minor in agriculture. While studying at Trent, I took classes and eventually taught at the Kawartha Potters Guild for a number of years. I also had an apprenticeship with Marsha Cox under Forks Road Pottery in Grimsby Ontario. Since then, I’ve worked at multiple pottery studios throughout Ontario and continue to work at my craft.
My work is influenced and inspired by my love of nature. I have a passion for sustainability and self reliance; how to create things from scratch and learning ancestral skills. Currently I enjoy making functional houseware. I’ve been getting into using stains to dye the clay different colours. Natural earth tones and organic forms and shapes are what inspires me. I enjoy challenging myself and seeing what new pieces I can create. Pottery is one of my greatest passions and I look forward to sharing what I’ve learned with you!
